So as promised, I have some new details released about the alleged Boston Marathon bomber, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev. In a phone conversation with his mother he filled her in on some of the things that have been going on in prison. Nice family conversation huh? What did Tsarnaev tell his mother? Well I guess you’re going to have to keep reading to find out!
Tsarneav told his mother, that someone has apparently opened a bank account for him and people have been depositing money into the account for him. He continues to tell her that he has at least “$1000” in this account, I don’t believe he mentions what this money is going to be used for.
His mother also mentioned that the family has received money from people extending their support to them. She mentions that the family has received about $8000 in donations made to the family from these supporters.
The rest of the phone conversation between Tsarneav and his mother was him telling her that he is not in pain and that he is eating. According to prison officials Tsarnaev is allowed one phone call a month, this was the first one he has made since his arrest.
As far as this bank account that Tsarnaev has, according to the same official, told ABC News that like all the other inmates there, he had a federal prison trust fund step up in his name upon his transfer there. These accounts are used to receive money from friends and family and to deposit money from jobs taken in the prison.
No one knows if Tsarnaev is recovered enough from the injuries he sustained during his arrest to be doing prison work, however, I’m sure that in the next call to his mother we will learn all about it.
Dzhokhar has been charged with using and conspiring to use a weapon of mass destruction. This came after him and his older brother, Tamerlan Tsarnaev, allegedly used pressure cookers and carried out the attack on the Boston Marathon. I will keep you all updated on any further information on this story.
