We have now gotten word on the first 12 players from MLB teams across the country and there are some pretty major players on this list of suspensions. One in particular we just heard about, Alex Rodriguez, the 38 year old third baseman for the New York Yankees. We just got word that Alex Rodriguez will be suspended, effective August 8th and will extend through the 2014 season. A-Rod is expected to appeal this suspension and continue playing through his appeal process which could take up to 45 days to complete. Besides A-Rod we have 12 other players that have accepted their suspensions and will not appeal.
Of the remaining 12 players, Nelson Cruz, Jhonny Peralta and Everth Cabrera are the major names on this list, all three were all stars this year and are serving a 50 game suspension. This all really started to unfold a couple weeks ago when Ryan Braun suspended for using PED’s and strongly denying it for years.
The other players on the list are Antonio Bastardo, Francisco Cervelli, Jordany Valdespin, Jesus Montero, Cesar Puello, Sergio Escalona, Fernando Martinez, Fautino De Los Santos and Jordan Norberto.
